Part of how we operate here at CMC is to help both hardware startups and large companies implement a meticulous NPI process, which we base on the auto industry's PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) as closely as possible.

There are 6 key areas to the NPI Process:

  1. Design
  2. Suppliers (and supply chain management)
  3. Line arrangement
  4. Staff training
  5. Process testing (and how PPAP works well here)
  6. "Go live"
